Fourth quarter property tax bills were mailed on March 19, 2020. State law requires that 4th quarter bills be mailed by April 1st. The Massachusetts legislature is currently debating a bill that will provide taxpayer relief. The bill would postpone the 4th quarter tax deadline from May 1st to June 1st. If the legislation is passed the Town will broadcast the new deadline. Cities and towns do not have the right to postpone the issuance date or due date for taxes. The pending legislation will provide this flexibility.
