The Town of Middleton has been informed of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 within the community. The case appears to be the result of overseas travel and does not appear to be a case of community transmission. The individual and the individual’s family are quarantining as advised by medical professionals.
In compliance with the restrictions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), we are prohibited from sharing the individual’s identity, location, or other protected health information.
Since this is our first positive COVID-19 case within the community, we are sending this out electronically via multiple media outlets (i.e. Town News and Notice, www.middletonma.gov, social media, etc.). Further presumptive or positive cases identified, if any, will be published on the Town of Middleton website at www.middletonma.gov. Please check the website daily for updated information.
We encourage residents to continue to practice social distancing and avoid gatherings, play dates, and other interactions that could result in spread of the coronavirus to you and your loved ones.
