The Middleton Public Works Water Division will begin flushing fire hydrants on Monday April 2, between the hours of 9 PM to 2 AM Monday through Thursday. The flushing will last four weeks.
For the first two weeks, we will be flushing the roads north of Middleton Square.
For the next two weeks beginning Wednesday April 12, we will be flushing all streets south of Middleton Square.
Flushing is done to clean out distribution pipes of any impurities or sediment that has settled out and accumulated over the past year, some of which may cause taste, odor or turbidity problems. We maintain a yearly program to detect and remedy any of these problems before they reach our customers.
You may notice some discoloration of water when first used in the morning. This can be remedied by running your cold water for a few minutes.
We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
